At TWIOO SPORTS, material, cut and function are considered as a single, integrated whole. We develop form-fitting sportswear made from high-quality polyamide-elastane fabrics, featuring our own distinctive style and solutions designed for a variety of movements.
WHAT EXACTLY ARE DETAILS?
For us, a detail is not simply the final decorative stitch on a finished product. It begins much earlier: with the choice of fabric, how it feels against the skin, the construction of the waistband, the stitching and the question of what a garment needs to deliver when used for sport.
On the individual sport pages, we showcase how these solutions are put into practice. Here, we explain the overarching system behind them: our materials, our design principles and the ways in which a tried-and-tested model can be transformed into a bespoke product.
01 · OUR MATERIALS
All the fabric ranges are based on the same concept: they are designed to support movement, fit close to the body and feel significantly higher quality than ordinary sports fabrics.
Professional. Flexible. Calm in demeanour.
PREMIUM is our versatile base fabric. The surface is smooth and has a relatively silky-matt finish; the fabric is stretchy and feels comfortable against the skin. It has a high-quality look without being overly conspicuous.
Hard to describe. You can feel it straight away.
PREMIUM TENSION It is made from recycled fibres and has a noticeably firmer fit against the skin. Its distinctive, dense feel provides support without restricting movement. We use it for our standard running trousers and the compression versions in the Series 16 range.
Lightweight nylon-spandex fabric for shirts and tops.
PREMIUM LIGHT applies the TWIOO fabric concept to lightweight, figure-hugging tops. The polyamide-elastane fabric is smooth, stretchy and pleasantly light. We use it for T-shirts, tops and other slim-fit performance tops.
That typical, slightly shimmery Lycra look.
SLEEK is a nylon-elastane fabric with the characteristic sheen that many associate with classic Lycra. The surface has a slight shimmer in the light and gives colours and body contours a visibly sporty, striking look.
Smooth finish. Distinctly glossy.
SHINE It acquires its distinctive finish through additional machine processing. This makes the fabric particularly smooth and allows it to reflect light more clearly and evenly than ‘SLEEK’. The result is an elegant, intense sheen.
Soft on the inside. Sporty on the outside. Lasting jet black.
WL BLACK is a high-quality polyamide-elastane fabric with a softly brushed inner surface. It is warm, exceptionally comfortable and yet retains a sporty, close-fitting silhouette. Our long-sleeved tops are cut to be close-fitting or slim-fit and retain their deep black colour even after many washes.
02 · MATERIAL IS MORE THAN JUST A FIBRE SPECIFICATION
‘Elastane’ is, at first glance, simply a type of fibre. But for TWIOO SPORTS, that’s not enough. In our polyamide-elastane fabrics, we use genuine LYCRA® elastane and combine it with selected nylon or polyamide grades.
It’s all about the interplay: the drape, the tension, the surface, the fabric weight and the finish must all be suited to the particular design. That’s why a PREMIUM TENSION might feel completely different from a SLEEK, even though both belong to the same family of materials.
03 · DESIGN AND FUNCTION
The placement of each seam, the construction of a waistband and the positioning of a pocket all determine whether a product simply looks good or actually performs well during sport.

The TWIOO elasticated waistband keeps running tights securely in place and prevents them from slipping down, without the need to constantly tighten a traditional drawstring.
Details on runningFor certain tights and leggings, we do away with the traditional front seam. This creates a cleaner look and a sleek, close-fitting silhouette.
View running modelsThe solution, developed for vaulting and partner training, helps to improve body awareness and posture, and enables targeted work on movement sequences.
For vaultingSmartphone pockets, small internal pockets and sport-specific storage solutions are integrated directly into the design, rather than being added later as an afterthought.
Details on water sportsMany of TWIOO’s long and short tights are suitable for running, training, water sports and swimming. The fabric and cut offer more possibilities than a narrow category would suggest.
For use across a range of sportsWaist height, leg length, seam placement, zip, pockets and fabric are not decided on a one-size-fits-all basis, but are chosen to suit the specific purpose and the particular model.
Ask a question about this product04 · MODELS INSTEAD OF DISPOSABLE COLLECTIONS
We don’t develop a whole range of products just to replace them after a single season. Many of TWIOO’s core models remain available in the long term and are subject to targeted further development.
This is particularly important for teams, clubs and groups: tried-and-tested designs can be expanded upon later, sizes reordered and existing kits continued. At the same time, we’re honest: even European fabric manufacturers occasionally discontinue colours or qualities. Where it is no longer possible to reproduce an identical product, we look for the most sensible alternative, both technically and visually.
05 · PERSONALISATION
At TWIOO SPORTS, personalisation is available even for a single product. Whatever is technically feasible, we can produce as a one-off, for small teams, or for larger club and event kits.
The scope, process and price depend on the design, material, location and quantity. Where unusual ideas are concerned, we prefer to assess them on a case-by-case basis rather than rushing to say ‘it can’t be done’.
06 · ORIGIN AND MANUFACTURE
A TWIOO product is not manufactured in a single location. Materials, elastic components, yarns, labels, printing, cutting and production are all carried out by specialist suppliers with whom we collaborate depending on the product and project.
We do not base our decisions on which country of origin looks the most appealing, but on who can carry out the relevant stage of the process reliably and to the required standard.

07 · MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE LIFE
Where possible, wash items inside out and in accordance with the care instructions on the label.
Avoid using fabric softener. It can damage elastic fibres and functional finishes.
Close any zips and handle printed or shiny items with care.
Do not wash at an unnecessarily high temperature and do not put in the tumble dryer. Air-drying is usually sufficient.
